  • 2015 – 2017   Master ́s in Technical Biology, University of Stuttgart Thesis: „ Morphological and mechanical characterization of the gorgonian Eunicella cavolinii (Cnidaria: Holaxonia)“
  • 2011 – 2015   Bachelors ́s in Technical Biology, University of Stuttgart Thesis: „ Quantification and characterisation of microplastic in the wastewater treatment plant Stuttgart-Büsnau“

I ́m fascinated by the interdependenices of complex biocenosis which directly influcence biodiversity on our planet. However, anthropogenic influences harm the environment more and more. Besides climate change and other factors, littering plays a role in this. In the last years, microplastics and their impact on man and biota were investigated, but lots of questions are still unanswered.

Hence, I ́m focusing on microbial diversity of biofilms on microplastic particles in terrestrical and aquatic ecosystems. In this context I ́m also interested in optimizing methods, which separate microplastics from soil or composts. Besides that, I ́m studying the effects of microplastics on model organisms to gain more informations about their impact on our environment.
